Elin's past connection with the choir.

What is the connection between

Elin Manahan Thomas and Dunvant Male Choir?

Young Elin.jpg Elin was born in 1977 in Gorseinon and was educated at the Welsh-speaking Ysgol Gyfun Gŵyr in Gowerton where she was an enthusiastic member of the school choir.      Côr Ysgol Gyfun Gŵyr was conducted by the school's Head of Music, Mrs Meinir Richards and accompanied by Deputy Headmaster, Mr Eric Jones. (Now proud President of Côr Meibion Pontarddulais).

On 21st December 1990 the school choir were the our guests in our Annual Christmas Concert at the Brangwyn Hall, Swansea. The concert was recorded and is available as one of Dunvant Choirs CD's, so at the age of 13 Elin (with the other choristers) contributed to this recording. She went on and joined the Swansea Bach choir and won a choral scholorship to Clare College, Cambridge University.

The rest is well documented history.
